November Second, Vote.Vote.Vote.
The day drolls on…..like every other.
Well. Almost.
Here I sit, grading exams for my upcoming class tommorrow night…as I listen, shake my head, and stare blindly at the TV and the most recent elections results. So disappointing.
But I’m in no mood to talk politics at this moment.
Instead, I’m smiling because the weather is at its peak. A little chill in the air, enough for a trenchcoat but not enough so that my fingers freeze.
I drove ’round with the top down today…cruising through mark twains hometown with a smile.
The highlight of my amusement today came after court. I was walking out to the parking lot and I noticed a police car parked in the handicap spot. I saw the officer in the car, talking on the phone.
So I walked up and knocked on the window. The officer rolled the window down. Yes, E?
E: "Officer, you are parked illegally in a handicap spot. Am I going to have to have write you a citation."
Officer: (Pause) …..Well, E, will you represent me on this ticket?
E: Of course.
Officer: Well, write it then, I have nothing to worry about.
I spent the afternoon upkeeping the office. And talking about voting. Finally, after work I went to the polls and voted. It was still a pleasant feeling. I don’t understand why people don’t vote. At least..on some of the issues or for some of the candidates….
I think it was George Carlin that described voting as the "illusion of choice." It seems many people these days take that few. I hope it doesn’t last.
On a side note, I’ve been having an overwhelming urge to surf. Like. Now.
I need to get myself a surfboard.
Oodles o’ love,
Erotique
