An Overview Overdue!

I’ve been meaning to write about this past weekend. Time however, has not been on my side.

I tried once to write here, and failed miserably, the muse not speaking as it usually does. Tonight however….the keys clack as needed, and progess, its seems, is inevitable.

This weekend was full of fun delights. First, Ash and I went to a party for her work. It was ok. I met some of her co-workers which was neat, including one who was a race car driver. The party was 80s themed (eww) but was held at Spirit Knob winery (yay!). We had to cut out around 9:00 to drop in to first friday…which was yet another adventure.

We arrived there, wine in hand, eating a few snacks, and sat around with the host and hostess and chatted the night away; until well past midnight.

Which brings us to Saturday: A Night to Remember.

Saturday was the Circuit Judge’s retirement party. A truly festive-all out lawyer bash. By far the best I’ve attended it. Open bar. Music (it was a "Roast" of the Judge..with speakers from throughout his life) I could not help but laugh. I saw all my friends. The country club was gorgeous…..The food was pure delight. Every Judge and Elected Official from Northeast Missouri was in attendance. And lowly-old me. (And Ash).

I drank my vodka-cranberry’s with a smile. I chatted and chatted until the night went out. I enjoyed every moment.

The rest of this week has gone fast…How its already tuesday night I’m not sure. I’ve recently begun cooking again. Which, is shockingly rough on my psyche. Everytime I boil water, I think of my Grandmother, and how throughout my entire life, she cooked macaroni and cheese for me, even well into my college years….
Until the very end.
I think of us, chatting in her kitchen, well past midnight, as the water gurgles to announce its readiness for the pasta.
My heart turns heavy….
But my memories always end with a smile.

How I miss her so, and how I love everything she has done for me. Every way she supported me.

I"ve cooked every day this week. I don’t plan on stopping.

Oodles o’ love,
Erotique
