yes we’re back
From outta space – or Spain anyway.
Sorry for no entry yet, I’m trying to sort photos out and it’s driving me nuts!! I took the majority on my actual camera as opposed to my phone and we chose to be internet free while away (cheaper and I love being completely away!) so I didn’t want to risk losing them all again.
Well, I’m struggling to move the photos onto my phone! I copied the folder straight into dropbox but not all of the photos have appeared and trying to get them from dropbox to photobucket is a nightmare because I can only export links to the photos not the actuall photos therefore I’m having to copy and save each blinking photo (there are over 300) into my phone’s photo gallery. From there they should automatically upload to photobucket…
So, we’ll get there!
We had an amazing time and I have many favourites – going to the local lake beach most evenings being one of them – I think my absolute, top thing was the Mezquite in Córdoba. I have wanted to go for a long time to see this amazing place; a mosque that was so large that, after the reconquista, a cathedral was built slap bang in the middle of it. Apparently the king of Spain at the time was really angry about the cathedral which was built as a middle-finger up at the retreating leaders of Islam and, as the king said, you have taken half the space of this incredibly original building purely to build something that I could see anywhere else in Europe.
Well, I totally agree.
The Mezquite part was incredibly calming, unnecessary thoughts didn’t happen. The cathedral was of the European style, too much gilt, too much splendour, too much everything. It was amazing in the detail, the intricacy of the carving in the wood. The paintings were amazing and the chandelier a feat of engineering but just all too much.
We left the cathedral back into the main mosque area and I felt my brain sigh with relief and the tranquility took over again.
But, the photos will come when I can sort the buggers out! Lol.
glad you enjoyed it. looking forward to the photo’s 🙂 .

RYN: Thanks for the suggestion. I wonder if my MIL may have that (she is overweight but she’s the only person I know who’s legs resemble the photo in the wikipedia entry I stumbled across). I will pass the info along and see if they’re aware of it/think it fits.

RYN: haha, I guess that’s true! A week and a half ago now (Saturday late afternoon), Ophira was sitting on the linoleum, and Gabrielle slipped on the hem of her dress, landed on her ankle funny and it broke! They made her temp cast with a bend at the knee to force her to stay off of it. No pressure meant after a couple of days she was already trying to scoot around with it. Now that her leg is free to twist and bend, she’s been as tender as the initial first few days. That said, 24 hours in the new cast and she was already willing to stand on her ankle. Walking on it, and getting it bumped/twisted still hurt, but that’s heartening.
