slight issue
We had a fantastic weekend but and I took so many wonderful photos… but… my phone has frozen, capturing all the photos within it. It’s an HTC ONE which don’t have memory cards. I’ve re-booted the phone but it gets so far in the start up process before it completely stops again. grrrr.
So, I’ll take it to the phone shop tomorrow in the hope that they can retrieve all my info before we do a factory reset which, according to the forums I’ve been checking, is the only option.
ttfn.
Aaah, so upsetting! I had a phone like that (SonyEriccson W600) and I had a software suite on the computer for updates and fixes. Crossing my fingers for you that a software reinstall won’t include a format!

RYN: Sorry, I thought your phone might have come packaged with a CD; with my old phone, you used the software to upgrade/fix software problems at home. I did some cursory searching on Google and I guess your phone doesn’t come with that. It’s very much like your home computer though. Depending on what file is damaged, it can be fixed by re-installing the operating system. There is some important file damaged on your phone causing it to stop half-way through the boot up instructions because the next step is missing. It depends on what tools are available to “talk” to your phone as to whether you have access to this option. (Factory resets in my experience are very rigid. You start the process and it does the rest, no options!) Do you have a data cable to plug it into the computer? if so, what happens? A factory reset is formatting (erasing the local HD/memory so that it’s blank), and reinstalling the operating system. (ie, Windows is an operating system. Your phone uses Android.) I have my fingers crossed that the repair technician can do exactly what you’re asking; hope that sounds better. 🙂
