[o23] All Those Tears For Nothing.
So I had a nice little meltdown today. I came home to find this email in my inbox:

SUBJECT: Important Reminders about Substituting
Now that the school year is well underway, we would like to take this opportunity to remind you of some very important items with regards to substituting:
1. Change in Substitute Availability: If you are no longer able to substitute, please contact our office as soon as possible so that we can inactivate your record in AESOP. We have new applicants that would like to be added as substitutes to our list. If you are unable to work but are still remaining “active” on our list, then our substitute list is deceiving.
2. Non-Work Days: If you know there are certain days of the week that you cannot work or if there is a day you cannot work due to other commitments (e.g. college schedule) please log in to AESOP and enter your non-work days so that we know which substitutes are available on a particular day.
3. Commitments to Assignments: We ask that before you make a commitment to accept an assignment, be sure that you are able to fulfill the assignment. We realize unexpected circumstances may arise, such as illness. However, accepting positions and not following through with the commitment puts the district at a disadvantage when filling vacancies.
4. School Closing or Delays: Finally, we have posted the inclement weather information on the substitute website. Now that the winter months are upon us, please take the time to review this posting so you know where to find information about school closings or delays.
As always, we would like to thank you for your service as a substitute for the … School District as well as your cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions, please let me know.

So I saw that and I pretty much burst into tears. I thought I was getting lectured because of that incident a few weeks back where my truck broke down on my way to the school and I had to call in last minute. I was so sad and upset. I just felt so low.
And then I got myself together, and messaged a fellow substitute… and yes, she got the message, too. It was sent out to everyone… HAHAHA. I was SO relieved. I also felt very sheepish. But… at least it wasn’t directed at me.
Aside from that, this day was pretty uneventful. I worked this morning, came home, had a break down, found a subbing assignment for tomorrow, and messed around online. Fun fun fun.
And now I’m off to take a bath and go to bed.
Nighty night!
.xoxo.
