Fence Estimate
Oh boy. We got Home Depot out to estimate how much it would be to do the fence. We’re talking 47′ shared between us and our neighbor, then the 5′ section, then our 4′ wide gate. Well all of that together would be $1795 for white wood, or 1895 for cedar! White wood would be $1410 for just the shared section.
That’s way too much! So I called another company and the guy quoted me over the phone $1250, but said that he’d have to see it to be sure.
But damn.
EDIT: We’d definitely ask the neighbor to pay some of it. We wouldn’t have minded to pay for all of it, if she wasn’t able to pitch in some money, but I was expecting like a max of $500! And then we looked at Lowe’s and they charge $10 per linear foot to install fencing. Hey…the panels are already put together, why do you have to charge per foot?!
do it yourself. if you have to buy one panel at a time. It is really easy to put up a fence.

Talk to your neighbours on the shared sides, they should front half the cost.

Yeah, your neighbor should totally fork over half the cost, and you can totally put it up yourself. If we had done a deck on our house through Home Depot, it would have cost about $1500. We did it ourselves and it only cost $400. HA!!

You could check out Craig’s List… You might be able to find someone one there who will put it up if you buy all the necessary supplies.
