Weekly thoughts
Today’s music: Little Talks – Of Monsters and Men (ps. I see them at the end of the month. yaaaaay! And very easy to mistake them for the Stars)
So I’ve signed up to two meetup groups – a girls tech group (roar!) and now a GLBT group. I’m looking forward to the GLBT group…when I was a young 18 year old I used to participate in political groups in Columbus. I’m going back to my roots! Those Ohioans are so nice, after all.
That said, I must be realistic in my commitments. Just yesterday the Managing Director of Girls in Tech asked that I meet her for coffee at 4.30pm. Quote: "We can learn so much from you…would love to feature you to the members in the upcoming months." But alas, I have work and a commute outside of the Columbus belt now. And my schedule isn’t ideal until the beginning of April. Note to self….plan ahead and stick to your commitment!
Another neighbor surprised me yesterday with a plate of brownies and cookies yesterday. Unfortunately, the cookies are laced with peanut butter so that’s a no go zone for me but the thought alone made me smile. This neighborhood is just soooo damn nice! I’m just waiting for something out of Hitchcock to occur…that or the Stepford wives. Just saying…..and don’t fret…the cookies found a good home. I gave them to the invisible fence installation guy. Toby is going on lockdown….he just doesn’t know it yet. Yes, even cats can be contained. Call me crazy…but I’m afraid he’ll run out into the street, get into a fight with one of several tomcats I’ve seen, or someone will steal him. Yep. I’m that crazy cat lady. O’well…. good to be something I suppose.
Onto the next random paragraph. I’ve given up meat…again. And I’m honing in on a whole foods plant based diet. There are a few reasons for this including my illness and general overall health. And if anyone is out there…I encourage you to watch this fantastic documentary, Forks Over Knives: http://www.forksoverknives.com/about/synopsis/
And if you’re up for another documentary, watch Bill Maher’s Religulous: http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/religulous/ And then look up the God of Mithra and start your comparisons. mmmhmm.
Ok….back to work I go.
i have a cat that lives outside and his name is stripe stripe.
