Tuesday, Already?

What I remember of eleven years ago.

When the rumors started swirling through the office, I was on my way out the door to take my passport application to the post office.  I always associate my passport with 9/11 as a result. My first question was "large plane or small plane."  This was before the second tower had been hit.

On the radio, and the rumors when I got back to the office, the information was slowly coming in and was becoming more obvious that this was no accident.  The Pentagon had already been hit by then, and I remember walking to the end of the floor I was on (the eleventh) and looking south toward DC.  I didn’t know until that moment exactly in which direction the Pentagon was, but the hugh cloud of smoke made it easy to find.

A dumbass in the building warned everyone to leave because "our building could be next."

My hope for this eleventh anniversary is that the "Never Forget" folks aren’t the same group of people that forgot all the "America United" bedsheets slung over all the highway overpasses in the days after 9/11.

Ender is out.
