The Big Sleep
What a week this has been, and it isn’t over yet. Mrs. Ender and I have been trading complaints all week about how long and exhausting it’s been and I guess the truth finally caught up with me last night.
You know how you sometimes have one of those nights when you know your head must have hit the pillow, but you were already asleep before that happened? And you know how you sometimes wake up in the morning and you can tell from where you are in the bed that you’ve not moved a single muscle all night? I had one of those nights last night. And, when the alarm when off I managed to incorporate the voices on the radio into my dreams, so it took longer for me to actually realize that I was waking up.
I slept like a brick but I didn’t wake up all refreshed and reinvigorated, in fact I feel reexhausted. Getting a couple of extra hours of sleep tomorrow is looking really good.
I rarely remember my dreams or even if I had any dreams. I assume I’ve been dreaming when the announcers voices on the radio alarm seem to make perfect sense, but overall I have only the slightest awareness of any dreams. However, this morning I woke up a a distinct memory of reading a word, in a dream, and now I can’t get the word out of my mind. Brobdingnagian, except it was spelled with an "O" instead of the first "A". So now I’ve got a misspelled work stuck in my head.
What must I have been dreaming?
Ender is out.
