Oil On The Water

I live in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, everything that goes down a drain eventually ends up in the bay.  Every drop of rain that falls or liquid that is poured into the street ends up in the bay.

There is a public service announcement that is played regularly on MASN (Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, broadcast home of the Nationals) in which Johnny Holiday tells viewers that a quart of oil will foul x-many square miles of the bay.  It’s a big number, seemingly too big for a single quart of oil to foul.

But now I have more appreciation for the fouling powers of a small amount of liquid in another.

I got two small drops of coffee in my tea water and it fouled the whole kit and kaboodle.

The "coffee" machines at work will also dispense hot water for tea, instant soup and whatever else needs hot water.  As I was filling my tea mug–it’s too big to be called a cup–I noticed a single drip of coffee fall from the adjacent nozzle.  I had barely registered a foreign substance in my Barry’s when a second drop dripped.  By that time, my mug was full and I decided that whatever could be ruined was already ruined.

My tea was ruined.  Those two drops of coffee were the Chesapeake Bay equivalent of a quart of oil.

Save the Bay, don’t let coffee drip into your tea.

With the free month of Amazon Prime that I got with my Fire, I’ve been watching the first few episodes of "Saving Grace."  Not only have I chuckled more than a few times per episode, but I’ve really got to find a songlist for the music that was in those episodes.  Not only do the songs really fit, but they really help to set the mood.  It’s rare that I both notice and appreciate the "background" music in TV shows and movies.  Later, sure, but not often while I’m watching.

Ender is out.

Wow, that’s a small amount, but, certainly “lethal.” erg. I am glad you enjoyed your show and the music. Could you Google, song list for Saving Grace, episode, such and such? Just curious. BigHugz.
