Listen to Ian Malcolm

In a report out earlier this week, a farmer in Oregon discovered that some of the wheat growing in his field was Monsanto’s genetically altered, Roundup resistant wheat.  The problem?  This wheat has never been submitted to, let alone approved by, the USDA.  Monsanto had done several "field tests" of this wheat, but had stopped the project and not sought government approval.

**Note, this is all a big deal because some of the U.S.’s biggest wheat customers will not accept grain from genetically altered  plants.  Japan has already canceled an order for 25K tons of wheat as a result of uncertainty in the U.S. grain market.

What I find amazing is that anyone in the business of genetically altering plants or humans (i.e. zombies) is unaware of the wisdom to be found in "Jurassic Park" book(s) and movie(s).  Who would put grain into a field as a test and not know that "nature will find a way?"  A field full of experimental plants?  No problem, we don’t intend for any seeds or plants to go beyond the edges of the field.

Geez.  This is embarassingly ridiculous.  The buttheads at Monsanto deserve to have to financially compensate every wheat grower in the world, because you should know that you can’t keep your dinosaurs confined to some small island off the coast of Ecuador.

Ender is out.
