Man, I woke up with horrible leg cramps in my lower left leg. I have not had them that bad since I was a kid. I definitely think it is time to get my thyroid checked.

I have hypothyroid. I was diagnosed with it when I was about 13. I found this out when I kept waking up with horrible leg cramps. Hypothyroid is a horrible disease and even though it is not fatal by itself, I would not wish this on anyone.

Work was great today. Everyone was in great moods and I got a huge job done and ready to go out on Monday. I stayed until 2 pm today. Now it is time for the weekend to begin!

i know unsolicited advice is annoying, but…magnesium might help with the leg cramps. my sis and i both have hashimoto’s thyroiditis along with other things and have found magnesium helps with cramping. i usually take it with my evening meal or in the evening as it is supposed to be calming as well. hope you feel better!

@dianebluegreen Not annoying at all. I appreciate honest advice. I was actually going to get some bananas at the store today but I found that I couldn’t wake up this morning. I’ll go tomorrow after work.

@dianebluegreen I have heard potassium helps also

@emberlore there is probably magnesium in bananas too. i used to eat them all the time, but then for some reason, they started to bother my stomach. getting nutrients from food is better than from a pill if you can absorb/digest it,definitely.

Hope you feel better soon! I have to get my thyroid checked regularly because I have subclinical hyperthyroidism; it’s there but not bad enough to need meds. It seems to have regulated itself for now, but it’s so fascinating how one little gland can affect so much.

Have a great weekend!
