It’s Scary Starting A New Business!
I did it! I’ve made the first steps in starting a business. It is VERY scary. And expensive. I cannot think about what happens if I fail and lose all that money. I can only focus on “what if it works?”
My business is designed around helping authors. For now, step 1: provide a platform for new authors to showcase their books (display front cover with a link to their amazon page or website)…this will help to raise funds for traditional publishing of our authors, to provide today’s excellent writers with the good old fashioned traditional experience that bigger publishers will only provide if the writer has a huge social media following.
Most authors are introverts and aren’t always trying to get attention on social media. I want to build a publishing house that will allow authors to fully embrace their introverted lifestyle and focus on their writing. As long as they are also willing to do book signings. And I know, doing book signings is difficult.
For now, my new business will only be able to publish Canadian authors. In the next two years, we may be able to expand and publish US authors as well. For now, it is with measured expectations that I take these first tiny steps into the world of owning a corporation. It is scary.
