Ho, Ho, Ho

Just when you thought I couldn’t shock you any further, I went and got a job working in a brothel disguised as a massage parlour. Yes, that’s right, I’m now working as a “masseuse” or more commonly as someone employed in the world’s oldest trade – a prostitute. It’s good money, but the last few shifts I worked were really slow. I find my tricks interesting and the dynamic of my workplace fascinating.

It’s actually not that bad, and I can honestly say that the most negative thing about working in the trade is the stigma that’s attached to it. I’m lucky to be working in a very safe environment (female owned and operated, no locks on any doors, never been busted by the cops), but it sucks to work in a trade that’s so intensely frowned on. I really do think they should legalize it, and I’ve felt this way for years.

I can’t help but notice the amounts of clients we get, added onto the number of clients escort services and other massage places get, and I can’t help but be amazed at it that solicitation for the purposes of prostitution is still illegal in this city. Prostitution itself isn’t – talking about it is the part you get busted for. Which is why we don’t talk about what we do until we’re in the rooms where we can’t get busted.

So far I’m actually really okay with the job. I can tell that women get bitter over the years, but from what I’ve seen so far it’s different somehow from how strippers get bitter. Strippers get more angry, ho’s get more jaded. Ho’s just accept that this is how the world is, while strippers rally against it in their own small ways. I prefer turning tricks, it’s just so much more to the point and less work. It’s far easier to have a client walk into a waiting room, pick you, negotiate, fuck, and leave than to have to spend minutes if not hours coaxing a guy to spend money to watch you dance and take your clothes off. Maybe I just feel this efficient about it because I’m a dyke and sex with men really isn’t something I’m into anyways.

So far my personal sex life hasn’t been affected by my work. Last weekend I was able to bring home two people I’m currently invovled with for what may well have been the best threesome I’ve had so far. Lots of chatting, communication, and especially laughter. I love being able to laugh during sex – that’s what makes sex really enjoyable for me. Either the kinky power dynamics or the sheer feeling of fun. Hell, even a combination of the two will work when used under the right circumstances.

Why am I so incredibly wired for sex? Everything I do is sexual. From the way I move, to the way I dance, to the way I interact with people, to the interests and hobbies (and careers!) I pursue, everything I do is sexual. Why was I born this way? Why me?

what an awesome entry! I have to say that the title is VERY clever for this time of year, and appropriate! I agree, legalise it! It’s just sex! 🙂 -Matt

Actually, according to anthropological studies, the world’s oldest profession is “Witch Doctor.” 🙂 There should be some interesting entries coming up…

Thank you for sharing this with us faithful readers 😉 May I ask, do you ever get clients of the same sex there? And if so, is there a difference you have noticed between male and female clients? Just a thought. I know what you mean about the stigma attached to prostitution even though it’s a profession that has been around as long as time can tell. My issue has always just been the worry…

that comes with being a prostitute. I feel like there are a lot of violent and sick people out there that have no respect for others, so it’s always something that makes me sort of scared. Don’t know if that makes sense. haha…anyways hope you’re doing well. Went to Canada the other day and thought of you!

We all pay for it some how (we being men.) I used to go see strippers all the time now I just got porn and a pocket pussy. I’m so lonely.

Ryn// My answer is a tad lame, like i said if i knew exactly what my dream job would be, i wouldn’t be working in a grocery store selling processed meats and cheeses. Instead i would be off trying to achieve it. On the flip side i’m curious as to what your dream career would be, or is your current employment enough for you.
