I think I want to do one for each suggestion.
Movie: Brave or Tangled- Brave was a hard movie to watch. Looks like a movie about a girl who has something to prove…but in fact it’s about the bond between mother and daughter, learning to accept and understand each other. I cried that whole damn movie. Especially the end scene. SPOILER ALERT: When she doesn’t realize how to truly reverse the spell, and starts crying realizing she has lost her mom, that she messed up and her mom is basically dead…I lost it. Heartbreaking, but so accurate a feeling. Tangled, on the other hand, lit me up with joy. The songs, Mandy Moore’s voice, the love story, the freedom…it was like someone filled a balloon in my chest, this joy, this hope, this longing for that life just fills me every time I watch it! Everyone should strike out alone in their life, find their own path, make some friends along the way…
Song: Fun-Some Nights- This song is all over the radio, but I don’t care. I love it anyway. The drum beat, the harmonies, fills that balloon again. It’s like something in me begins to fly to that song. The lyrics, about what in life is worth fighting for, and the struggle to find it…God I just want to scream and dance when I hear that song.
Book: It has been a long time since a book moved me. I can’t seem to find any that really have an impact on life anymore. I think I need suggestions. I guess I’ll still go with Sense and Sensibility, because certain parts still make me giddy.
Artwork: Hmmm…I’d have to say the fountain in Golden Gate Park or Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach. The first is this beautiful gargoyle fountain, that just screams of magic, and the second was living people staging scenes of famous master pieces. The Ecstasy of St Teresa, Oath of the Horati, etc. They are some beautiful paintings, and these people made it amazing.
Performance: Seeing a good performance sticks with you, and it’s been a LONG time since I’ve seen a really good one. I saw Wicked off Broadway in Chicago, and that didn’t really move me. But in high school…I saw the Illinois All State production of Les Miserables…and it will never leave me. I was in tears, I was sucked in. Eponine was simply incredible. It felt like there was this fog of emotion rolling from the stage over the audience the whole time. Fantastic. Which is sad to say, because I am a student of theatre at a large college, and I’ve thought the shows we put on here are horrible. Mostly in the directing choices and the acting…though our production of Rosencrantz and Gildenstern are Dead was amazing.
Now THIS is original!!
Warning Comment
This may sound stupid, but sometimes when watching a show like The Voice or So You Think You Can Dance, I get really moved by some of the performances. Sometimes I get tears in my eyes, sometimes I get chills. Will have to watch both of those movies. I don’t remember hearing about Tangled!

I heard a song Taylor Swift sang tonight on the Stand Up For Cancer show and it made me cry… …
