some pictures, and that movie thing *EDIT*
Everyone’s doing that movie thing, so I’m going to do that movie thing too.
You go to IMDB, you look up ten of your favorite movies, you go to the quotes section and then you post a quote from each one on your journal. And everyone tries to guess the movies. Oh, come on! It’s fun! Actually I had more fun looking them up and reading quotes than I did trying to guess other peoples. So, hey, if you’d rather just go look up quotes, you go right ahead.
And of course I picked these really long quotes. Because I can’t do anything in just a few words. As we all know. Oh, and no fair googling the quotes, of course.
Number 1 Kentia got it right – The Full Monty.
[discussing possible means of suicide]
Dave: Drownin’. Now there’s a way to go.
Lomper: I can’t swim.
Gaz: Well you don’t have to fucking swim, you divvy, that’s the whole point. God, you’re not very keen are you?
Lomper: Sorry.
And the quote I nearly put in but didn’t because, ummmmm…. I thought it was too short:
Dave: "Anti-wrinkle cream there may be, but anti-fat-bastard cream there is none."
Number 2
[Francis and Peter are beating each other up]
Francis: You don’t love me!
Peter: Yes I do!
Jack: I love you too, but I’m gonna mace you in the face!
Number 3 No surprises that Falling Dog got this one – Down By Law
Roberto: It is a sad and beautiful world.
Zack: Yeah, it’s a sad and beautiful world buddy.
Number 4
Neighbor: Is there a murder in your film?
Nikki: Uh, no. It’s not part of the story.
Neighbor: No, I think you are wrong about that.
Nikki: No.
Neighbor: Brutal fucking murder!
Nikki: I don’t like this kind of talk; the things you’ve been saying. I think you should go now.
Neighbor: Yes. Me, I… I can’t seem to remember if it’s today, two days from now, or yesterday. I suppose if it was 9:45, I’d think it was after midnight! For instance, if today was tomorrow, you wouldn’t even remember that you owed on an unpaid bill. Actions do have consequences. And yet, there is the magic. If it was tomorrow, you would be sitting over there.
[Neighbor points to Nikki’s couch across the room]
Neighbor: Do you see?
Number 5
Richie: I wrote a suicide note.
Chas: You did?
Richie: Yeah, right after I regained consciousness.
Chas: Well what does it say? Is it dark?
Richie: Of course it’s dark, it’s a suicide note.
Chas: Can I read it?
Richie: No.
Chas: Well could you at least summarize it for us?
Number 6 Prarie Wind got it – Smoke Signals!
Randy Peone: Good morning, this is Randy Peone on KREZ radio, the voice of the Coeur d’Alene Indian Reservation. And it’s time for the morning traffic report on this rainy Bicentennial Fourth of July. Let’s go out to Lester Fallsapart in the KREZ traffic van broken down at the crossroads.
Lester Fallsapart: Big truck just went by… now it’s gone.
Randy Peone: Well, there you go folks. Looks like another busy morning.
Number 7
Father Harlan: We are all angels. It is what we do with our wings that separates us.
Number 8
[the Baby is going into violent convultions and has broken out in spots]
Henry Spencer: Oh! You ARE sick!
Number 9
Mickey: Think her family’s gonna be okay that you’re a white guy?
Cliff: They think any woman over 30 who isn’t married is a lesbian. She figures, they’ll be so relieved that I’m a man…
Mickey: Yeah, it’s always heartwarming to see a prejudice defeated by a deeper prejudice.
Number 10 And congrats to Pixie Lou and Falling Dog – it’s the hysterical Raising Arizona!
H.I.: Wake up, son.
[Aims gun at the clerk]
H.I.: I’ll be taking these Huggies and whatever cash ya got.
Ed: [Sees H.I. from the car] That son of a bitch. That son of a bitch! You son of a bitch!
H.I.: And make it quick, I’m in dutch with the wife.

Today I barely stuck my nose outside of the house. And that was just to take pictures of icicles. It supposedly started out at 47 today and then dropped to 18, but I never saw it much above 20ish. It snowed all day, but as usual didn’t amount to anything. And, as usual, the wind has howled all day long. It’s like Antarctica. Without the penguins. I’m not even going to start complaining about how sick I am of winter. It is supposed to warm up, at least.
And of course I’ve got to post some Cute Kitten pictures. Because I’m trying to convince Prairie Wind that cats are no trouble at all, despite what her husband thinks, and she really needs one!
Eddie looking out at the icicles.
Stella looking at the kittens.
The kittens looking cute, as usual.
i don’t know any of those quotes.. i did the quiz too if you wanna guess mine.. hehe… and cool pictures!
Warning Comment
The only one i recognise is #10 – Raising Arizona, one of my favourite films.
Warning Comment
Yours I can do most of without cheating, but you listed the characters and are a tom waits fan, so, I mean it’s not that hard. I know the one isn’t from wriostcutters; a love story, but if you haven’t seen it you gotta, also Tonm has a bit part in it.
Warning Comment
I so love icicles

#1 has got to be Down By Law. Boy I wish I had a script writer for my life, some of these are so priceless. And imagine writing something alone in your room and then having some famous actor speak your words on screen. Wow. I like all the cat pictures but Eddie through the screen is coolarama,
Warning Comment
The pictures are adorable! And I feel like I am pretty knowledgable about movies but I don’t have one clue about any of your quotes!
Warning Comment
Number 1 is The Full Monty – I think.
Warning Comment
everyone needs kitty lovin’!!…. great pics!…… I am so ready for warm, warm, warm weather!!! …… 🙂
Warning Comment
i told prarie wind that cats are virtually no problem at all. and they’re good for you. i’ll have to check out the icicles on my back porch. i love to see the water dripping down them. take care,
Warning Comment
I recognize not a single one of those quotes! Do you go to a lot of art house flicks? Well, I don’t do a lot of movies in general, so … I won’t be doing this one! Great icicle and kitty shots. How precious those kitties are!
Warning Comment
kitties!! i don’t know any of those movies 🙁
Warning Comment
Well, I know #10 is Raising Arizona, because I think I have nearly every line of that movie memorized. I’m pretty sure #3 is Down by Law. As for the rest, I’m clueless.
Warning Comment
Knew I’d be clueless, but I read them anyway. Yep. Clueless. Love the icicles!
Warning Comment
ryn: I’m so sorry to hear about your husband’s choice of footwear. It’s probably grounds for divorce, and possibly justifiable homicide. I know I’d vote to acquit on that jury.
Warning Comment
I agree that cats are no trouble at all–as long as somebody else takes care of them.
Warning Comment
rynrmn: I knew that, of course I knew taht, I can see the darn scene in my head…grrr.
Warning Comment
*chokes on her tea* Cats are no trouble at all? RYN: But Pierce is so virile, so gorgeous, I simply can’t relax.
Warning Comment
I’m so culturally delayed, sorry no quotes for me, even with the name clues. Unless I google them… #6 is pretty funny though. Lovely cats and photos. and ice too. Move north! According to Marty the Meterologist, we have 2 weeks ahead with no nasty winter weather. So really, that puts us almost into April. We may be done, we may have survived another mild winter.
Warning Comment
Is #6 from Good Morning Vietnam? Raising Arizona is the only other one I would have gotten for sure. We own it and love it.
Warning Comment
I didnt have a clue for ANY of the movies. That last picture is just wonderful.
Warning Comment
Im surprised Deve didnt say yes cats are no trouble at all as long as you can breathe and still be around them.
Warning Comment
I only recognized Raising Arizona and someone beat me to it. Love the last picture of the cats.
Warning Comment
ryn- terribly late. J studied interior design before accounting. Dad nixed architecture because it was a 5 year program. J changed her major after co-oping. She’s never looked back.
Warning Comment
Number 6 is ‘Smoke Signals’. It was an odd little movie but I loved it.
Warning Comment
I’ve been pathetic at these movie quizes, guessing 2 out of a brazillion throughout ODland. Cool cat pics. Please give them this: http://www.catgalaxymedia.com/

RYN:I taught in New Mexico for two years in a place called Gallup. The part of the movie where they are doing those lines cracked me up. You have to be isolated and know First Nations people to understand how funny that part is in that way of life.
