it’s the photo-post that never ends!
I’m trying to post all the rest of my Las Vegas photos, because… I’m getting a digital tomorrow! I hope. I’ve ended up ordering a Cannon online from BestBuy and I plan to pick it up in Greensboro tomorrow. Naturally, I have yet to get my confirmation email telling me it’s there to pick up. I guess at worst I can get them to mail it to me, but they had them in stock so surely they can dig me one up. It was an online-only sale and I’m going with Baker B to Greensboro tomorrow anyhow, so that seemed like a good idea. Since I finally decided what I want. Which is, shockingly, way less money that I figured I’d be spending. It’s an A520, just 4 metapixels, but it got great reviews and rated better than the pricier, higher metapixel Cannons. And I’m figuring that the way camera prices keep plummeting, I can afford a much better one later on if I decide I’m not totally happy with it. I can also return it if I REALLY hate it – I’ve been acting like I’m making a life-altering decision here and getting a little overwhelmed by all the choices. I’m not pledging my eternal soul to it. Jeeze. It’s only a camera.
Although I must say that since my Pentax broke, it’s become painfully clear how totally dependant I am on having a camera. A GOOD CAMERA. It’s like that’s how I process my world – by taking pictures of it. And I certainly don’t want to be processing my world through a cheap inferior piece of junk.
So. Here’s a little more of the world I’ve processed through my beloved Lomo:
This was in the gardens at the Bellagio Hotel. I can’t even remember what exactly it was now, but it was very pretty!
More pretty Bellagio Gardens.
A sign in Caesar’s Palace that I found particularly amusing. A lot of the casino signs would say things like “Ticket Redemption” but this was just Redemption.
The Trojan Horse in front of the FAO Swartz toystore in Caesar’s Palace. You can see the fake sky here in several places. That was SUCH a fun store, incidentally. The Forum has many very very upscale shops – Prada, Dulce and Gabana (I’m SURE I’m spelling that completely wrong), Cavalli, Ralph Lauren, etc etc, and they were so upscale and intimidating that I didn’t even go inside – they’d have no customers and one very snooty upscale clerk standing by the door – but the toystore was really fun. And not at all snooty.
A statue in Caesar’s Palace. And the impressive stairwell.
A fun fountain.
Siegfred and Roy’s tigers, of all things. They were so pretty – and appeared kind of bored. They weren’t pacing, but would wander around and then play a little, and then wander around some more. These are made with the Pentax, actually. For anyone who is keeping score.
This is a….ummm… bathroom ceiling. In the hotel where we had the seminar which we actually went to Las Vegas to attend. Yes, I took pictures of the bathroom ceiling. But it was SO COOL!
Next stop – Freemont Street!
Love that first shot, but I can’t figure out what it is. Sort of looks like jellyfish on a lit up wall. Cool. Only one tiger was out when we were there, so I really love that shot of the tiger on the elephant! And I hope you LOVE your new camera!

Im very impressed with the tigers cage. Looks like pretty nice digs.

Tigers cage looks very luxurious…, like jewelry in a box. I wonder if they have trees or just sand in there, like in most of the zoos? Great pictures!
