charleston pictures!
Yes, it IS about time – it’s been weeks. This is a good time to post pictures, since I can’t get anything done thanks to the 350 Spring Semester student teachers who are (A) coming by nonstop to either sign up for an interview when they were supposed to have done that by last Friday, or who (B) did manage to sign up on time but now have no idea what time they signed up for, who they signed up with, what day the interview is, or where the interview is going to be. All I’ve done is glare at dippy students all day long.
SO – Charleston pictures!!! Well, pictures of the new bridge, the old bridges, and Magnolia Cemetery, mostly. If you looked at my photos you’d think all we did was hang out in the cemetary and walk over the bridge.
Magnolia Cemetery! Looking all peaceful and serene.
A strange Greek-looking tomb. One of the things I love about this cemetery is that there are so many different, and often bizarre, tombstones and mausoleums.
Bizarre. This tomb has a grassy roof.
A mausoleum and some very weird old stones.
Interesting stone.
REALLY interesting. Note that it says “wicca” down there at the bottom.
The Wicca area of the graveyard. That’s something you don’t see every day.
I should probably break this up into several entries, for everyone who is like me and has dial-up that seems to be trying to connect from Mars.
And let me just note that I can spell neither “mausoleum” nor “cemetery.” I’m leaning heavily on Spellcheck here. If I missed any, I tried.
very beautiful pics. I am fascinated by cemetaries for some reason…

That first one is gorgeous with the reflections on the water. The one with the weird stones looks a bit like a samovar. I understand about the grass roof because Mr. Finch wants desperately to be buried above ground. I think he made me promise I’d do my best if it came to that, at one point.

A Wicca section of a cemetary? Oh wow! And in the Deep South, to boot!

^ As you can see, I also misspelled cemetery wrong. I am bleary-eyed tired and forgetting how to spell my own name. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

Oh my gosh, now my notes are starting to get hilarious, I am that tired! How can you misspell something wrong? ACK!!!! I should just give up and go to bed now and finish your entries tomorrow, but I probably won’t, so be prepared for more idiotic notes.
