baker b is stricken with JibJab Madness
My SIL emailed me a JibJab "card" that she made using my nieces’ four kids, and I forwarded it to Baker B. He immediately started making JibJabs himself, although instead of actual people he used…. Creepy Ornaments! And his mother’s VERY VERY Creepy Dolls!!! And the Silenco Woman from Mullholland Drive!!! And all kinds of other, ummm, actors. And stuff. If you can’t see them, refresh the page- I don’t know what is up with that, but it does seem to work after a refresh. He’s got a bunch more but it’s hard to keep track of what I’m putting where so I’ll save the others for later. They are short and hilarious. And slightly disturbing. Especially the last one.

We are now officially on vacation! I think I need to quit taking days off, though. I took off yesterday planning to have a relaxing day and go see my dad and spend a night there before all the Christmas Madness of next week. Last time I took vacation days was at the end of October, and we got hit by the freak blizzard that was a by-product of Hurricane Sandy. So what did we get yesterday??? A freak blizzard!!! Well, not quite so freakish since it is late December, and we only had a few inches of snow, but the wind was horrific. We had 70 MPH here, and up on Grandfather Mountain they got up to 121 MPH. Breaking records. That IS freakish. And it blew like that all day and night. We actually had a high wind advisory until 6 tonight, but thank god it calmed down this morning. The power went off last night but happily it came back on after a couple of hours. In which we wandered around trying to find flashlights and kerosene lamps and candles and wondering how we’d survive with … !!!!GASP!!!… no internet!! AND no water, since we’re on a well. And we had to sit in the dark listening to the wind howling like a freight train and hearing things hitting the house. No damage, though. Except to our nerves.
Oh, and I took whole week off for vacation over the 4th of July, then got in the wreck and broke my arm so ended up having to take sick time instead of vacation.
Hopefully we will be off to Charleston Tuesday, after going through Morganton Monday night for the Baker B Family Christmas Eve Party, and then we’ll be back in M’ton again Thursday which is when his far-flung nieces will arrive. THEN Asheville. This is all providing we don’t get additional blizzards. Also hopefully I’ll find more time to actually make entries and catch up with everyone else. Hahahahhahahaha!!!
I do have to post Creepy Ornament Pictures. Tomorrow would be a great time for that.
Darn. No amount of “refreshing” will load those cards for me. Could be an iPad problem; I do occasionally run across things I’m unable to view.

Those are hilarious! I have seen them before but not as well done as these. You and Baker B have inspired me. Hope you have an enjoyable–but “uneventful” in the bad sense–holiday.

Love the Dame Edna one! Hey, you’ll have to stop taking holidays and just work all the time. Or maybe get obsessive about stocking up on 20 litre bottles of water, tins of sardines, torch batteries and candles. This is channelling me – we have had a lot of serious disaster-preparedness advice in recent years. I wonder why? Oh, well, have a good one, whatever you have, and I hope the weather cooperates.

Happy Vacation!! Going to watch creepy doll jib jab et. all.

No jibjabs on my smart phone. Will be back when my laptop internet works

I remember discovering Jib Jab many years ago, I don’t think they did e-cards then. They just had animations and interactive stuff. I watched every single one.

I like the mariachi baby doll head with no neck one best. The first one reminded me a bit of this last weekend, Pacifica, who has absolutely no common sense in the real world as well as the work one, was snowboarding in a wooded area with her hmmm, somewhat irresponsible boy friend and hit a tree and has some amazing black eyes and a big scab on her forehead.. So glad your power outage was short-lived. I need more disaster preparedness stuff. I do have one good but small flashlight and lots of batteries and a crank radio and water… I hope you enjoy the whole week off! Happy family visits and non flooded days away and well running cars and everybody everywhere remaining intact.

RYN: I had my first meltdown last night, when I saw some in-laws’ posts about all their Christmas prep and holiday plans — and I realized that I haven’t received a single Christmas card, not even from the dentist, no party invites from neighbors, and not one single family member on either side has inquired as to our Christmas plans. I started wondering how long it would take for anyone to noticeI was missing if my husband killed me and hid the body, and my speculations were not pleasant. Heh.

Baker B did a fine job with the jib jab cards. I did find the last one to be more than bit disurbing, but that’s just me.

Those baby doll heads in the Feliz Navidad one were positively disturbing. We can all only be thankful that Baker B. mostly uses his powers for good. Glad you weathered the storm OK. In South Jersey we got a little rain and some wind, so it wasn’t too bad for us — of course, Sandy was pretty devastating, so it’s good that the latest storm was mostly a nonevent here. I feel youon the vacation thing. I squandered all my vacation time dealing with truck repairs and had to cancel my plans for September. I likely won’t be able to get a full week off until March. I hope your time off is actually time off this go around.

RYN: 😀 I remember ‘bad santa’ (I think), two old people dancing to techno and election songs.

The Christmas tree one was hilarious. That sucks about the weather. Things tend to happen for a reason. I believe more and more in that idea. Hope you have a restful and happy Christmas.
