Super Sunday, Mundane Monday and more

I was hoping I wouldn’t have to write this entry. I was hoping I would be able to come here and write about how good it feels to have experienced my first Super Bowl win as a fan. Instead, I have to come here and write about how bad it feels to have experienced my first Super Bowl loss as a fan.

Since the game ended yesterday, I have had people come up to me and offer condolences. As of yet, no one has talked trash, though I expect that to change tomorrow when I get to work. I’d almost rather have that than the “I’m sorry,” but people’s hearts are in the right place, so I understand.

It was hard to deal with the loss, especially with Ron’s friends cheering for the Bucs the whole time, but a day later, I find myself already beginning to recuperate. Perhaps it’s because the game was decided relatively early, and we didn’t beat ourselves….we were outplayed (despite what a number of the Oakland Raiders might say).

In any case, I have always prided myself on being a realistic fan…so, I have no problem saying congratulations to the Bucs and their fans and I have no problem admitting that the better team won.

Now, I suppose I will focus on basketball season.

Today was the first day of class. I am enrolled as follows:

Today – American Identities (English), Column and Review Writing

Wednesday – American Identities

Friday – Magazine Writing

I’m trying to add the Mass Media Law class I need in order to graduate, (I may have written about the drama with this class in another entry) but we’ll see how it goes. So far, things look pretty easy. In addition to the classes, I’m writing a bi-weekly column for the paper now that I’m no longer a member of the class. So…..One day down, 47 more to go.

As you can tell by the fact that I’ve written this, I’m back from my vacation in Kansas. It only snowed one day and Marci and I had a blast, as always. She watched the Raider games with me, stayed up late to watch the Lakers and Rockets, and thanks to a free preview of NBA League Pass, we watched some Kings games too.

As hard as it is to leave her, I love my vacations with Marci. =)

Well, just like that, you’re all caught up on my life. Until next time…

I wanted the Raiders to win, too. Honestly, I’m not a true fan (don’t hate me for saying that…). I just was tired of everyone pulling for the Bucks so I went for the Raiders. I seriously thought they were going to kick tail. Blah. What was up with that? Hope you’re having a good semester. :o)♥-
