Stranger (poem turned to song lyrics)

Hey mister, what colours do you see today?
Do you see the gold and blue, or maybe silver grey?
How many times has someone asked you if what you see is true?
Like seeing stars shine in the morn’, in a mighty sea of blue?

What is it like, living a life in which no-one seems to care?
Ev’ryone is teamed up against you, and ev’rybody stares?

Running and hiding from your past,
Hoping you don’t scare her?
With tales of days, now long gone?
With night’s tale of future terror?

Hey mister, what colours do you see today?
Do you see the gold and blue, or maybe silver grey?
How many times has someone asked you if what you see is true?
Like seeing stars shine in the morn’, in a mighty sea of blue?

Has anyone ever tried to amend their ways,
When they’ve done you wrong?
Or do they just shrug it off,
Say "nobigdeal," and leave you to be strong?

What is your secret?
Many people have asked,
How do you keep living,
Knowing nothing lasts?

Hey mister, what colours do you see today?
Do you see the gold and blue, or maybe silver grey?
