Fortune Cookies…

Hey All,

Pookie and I had Chinese food last night. We got SEVEN fortune cookies from the place! I was surprised because usually they only put in 2-4. Anyway, these are what we got – there is one "missing" because Gizmo had a fortune cookie and I forget what it said, and I think he may have thrown it out.

  1. You will lead a rich and successful life. (mine)
  2. All that we are is a result of what we have thought. (mine/Scooter’s)
  3. A pleasant surprise is in store for you. (mine)
  4. All things come to him who waits. (mine/Scooter’s)
  5. Your smile always brightens the cloudiest days. (Pookie’s)
  6. Achievement is one percent aspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration. (Pookie’s)

I wonder if mine (#s 1 & 3) means I’m going to win the Lottery? Ha! Wouldn’t that be nice…

Pookie.

“Pookie”? lol…that’s what I call my daughter :-). Thanks for info. I *REALLY* need to do something about my weight!!!

RYN: No, Ebonics is commonly known as “black language”. Ebony + Phonics = Ebonics. Here’s a brief explanation… http://www.ebonics-translator.com/about.php Personally, I think it’s utterly ridiculous and sounds stupid. But, that’s just my not so humble opinion :-).

Oh, and I first heard that quote in a movie called Akeelah & the Bee. It’s a movie about a little 11 yr old black girl from a poor neighborhood who makes it all the way to Nationals in DC to win the Spelling Bee. It’s a great and very inspiring movie! Here’s the trailer… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OluD1dQ0IxY

We hid them after JunPhoMo, but we thought it would be easier for the newbies to get an idea of what OctoPhoMo is if they could see JunPhoMo. I think we’ll hide them again though once OctoPhoMo gets going :-). -Wendy

Also, I’ve changed that color to a different purple. If it’s not any better, let me know and I’ll try something different. Or, if you could tell me if darker or lighter would be better… -Wendy

RYN: LOL Thanks :-). Well, you’re right about one thing…I am your age. Well, about. I’ll be 35 in November. Amanda will be 16 Oct 5th. She’s like me in that she looks older than she is. I did too when I was her age, and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve aged very well. I guess it’s just in the genes lol. I’ll post a few more pictures of her if you’d like lol.

RYN: Well, my mother got married last month and her dress cost considerably less than a grand. Of course, she bought hers at a discount, and also a thousand dollars is worth roughly four hundred pounds.

RYN: This is from our August 24th annoucement: PS: Posts from June are now public again in the JuPhoMo 2012 chapter but notes are turned off on those entries and all previous notes are currently being made private. What I left for Wendy a couple minutes ago: I plan on keeping the JuPhoMo entries public since we have chapters for the diary plus it’s silly to keep changing the viewing status over and over. ~Natasha

RYN: Thank you :-). Yeah, she has my nose…..we both hate our noses lol. My dad’s going to pay for her to get a rhinoplasty in the near future.

Sent ya a friends request on FB :-)…..Wendy Jamieson Kolb

RYN- That’s OK. I haven’t been good about making the daily entries. I’ve been SO swamped this semester. 4 classes, internship, two friends moving (on the same weekend mind you…wth??), Amanda’s 16th birthday, etc. Work (internship) has been hectic…emailing/calling senetors, commissioners, school board members, helping to plan award banquets, a birthday party for a friend to plan. OMG….I needa nap just thinking about all of that lol! ~Wendy
