oh, the weather outside is frightful

It just barely flurried this morning on my way to work…so little that it was hard to tell if it was snow or just a bunch of dandruff in the air.

This is joy in liquid form (adapted McDonald’s slogan for their hot chocolate).

Young House Love made the commitment to purge their home of 100 things before moving into their new house this month.  They ended up getting rid of over 200 items, and even made a couple hundred bucks doing a yard sale.

I told Bill we’re doing the same thing, so I’m now making a list on the computer and a pile of things upstairs that we’re throwing out, selling, or donating.  The list only has 15 items on it so far, but it already feels SO GOOD to know we’re getting rid of things we haven’t used in years.

Another thing I want to copy from YHL is taking a video of our home (once the rooms are more complete).  They made this video for their daughter, who’s only 6 months old, so she can one day see what their first home was like.  Love it.

Bill is in love with Trans-Siberian Orchestra, so I’m trying to decide if I want to spend the money to get him tickets for Christmas.  He mentioned it would be a great gift, which I knew, but it’d probably be the only thing I could get him if we did it.

And I hate having just one gift, especially one that would occur BEFORE Christmas since they’re playing Dec. 17th.  I’d have nothing fun or exciting to give him Christmas morning…our first Christmas in our house.

I told Sarah if she got Bill to buy me a Kindle for Christmas that I’d give it to her in a year when I got an iPad.  The other night, I mentioned the Kindle to him myself and how I was starting to want one.  He said he wished I had said something sooner because he’d already gotten my Christmas gift.  Decoy statement?  I’m not quite sure…

We also talked about how I know about him talking to my dad. He pretty much already knew I knew, that’s now out in the open.

A friend of mine went to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra last year, and (he) said they were amazing. Buy Bill the tickets, take a picture of the two of you at the show, put it in a frame, and have him unwrap that on Christmas day. He gets the nice big present and still has something (fairly inexpensive) under the tree. 🙂 I am so craving hot chocolate right now. That picture did NOT help!

Mmmm, hot chocolate. I need to purge Ari’s toys before Christmas… and after that, she’ll have just as many if not more than before. Oy. I saw Trans-Siberian Orchestra a few years ago. It was amazing, but LONG. 🙂

I say get the tickets for sure. It’s supposed to be a great show! I’m sad every year when I hear people who aren’t me are going!!

Oh my goodness I’ve been craving hot chocolate lately! I made myself some the other night and I didn’t even finish it, it just didn’t make me feel good at all. Frustrating to crave something but not have it agree with your body!

he already got your christmas gift = he bought you a totally sweet ring. or, something. you’ve got me hooked on young house love. i am also totally in love with purging our house of things we no longer need. i make drop offs to a charity place every couple of weeks, i swear. i think that means we have too much crap.

hahahaha I may or may not know something about your christmas gift 🙂 or at least I have an idea. AND IM NOT TELLING. love you! ps yes, I want a video tour because I’m probably not going to be in ny anytime soon

i have been having a lot of hot chocolate! but i make it, drink not even half a mug and dump it out. for shame

You should purchase for him the tickets to the show and then just make him a goodie basket to stick under the tree so he still has something to open on Christmas day. I’ve done that before and it turned out really, really well. If you need some inexpensive ideas to stick in the basket I’ve got them in spades, just let me know!

that DOES look like joy in liquid form. lol

I need to buy more hot chocolate for my keruig. I love that thing :). YHL = the best :). I love that site and can’t wait until I have my own house and start diying everything I can 🙂 heh!

Lovelovelove YHL – it’s given me so many great project ideas! I’m debating making a calendar from their recent post…
