lucky i’m in love with my best friend

We spent the weekend finally painting our bedroom.

After eleven different samples, we decided on something. I still wasn’t 100% sold when we chose it, but I’m liking it so far. And I’m sure I’ll like it even more once the furniture is in. It’s hard to really see the color here between the lamp and the camera flash, but it’s the best I could do right now.

Now Bill and I are cuddled up on the couch watching the Jets game. I’ve got a nice glass of wine (Chateau St. Michelle Riesling) and he’s bundled up with a hoodie, two blankets, a ski cap, and gloves…poor guy is getting sick.

I gave notice at work last week, and I’m much more sad about it than I anticipated. Part of that is simply from having conversations with the VP of our department where he tells me how great I am, what an asset I am to the department, etc. He’s a guy I really like, but my day to day job doesn’t require much interacting with him. Ever since I’ve been at Bravo, I’ve craved positive feedback from him and rarely gotten it.

He even went so far as to offer me a $13,000 raise to stay at Bravo.

And if it wasn’t ESPN….I might have taken it. But thankfully it is ESPN because I know that no amount of money would have been enough to really make me happy at Bravo.

The new job is a digital marketing position. My degree is in marketing and this is the area where I want to build my career. Sports marketing. So, it really is perfect for me.

My new department is in charge of marketing for ESPN Insider as well as a new campaign they’re going to launch for ESPN.com.

As of February 7th, I’ll officially be back in sports!

I love Riesling! My favorite right now is Yellow Tail. It sucks having to leave and change, even if it is good. It’s just hard to leave something behind. I know you weren’t all happy with it, but it wasn’t 100% horrible, either, so it’s hard. But in a couple weeks you’ll be so much happier!

I would have taken the job at ESPN over Bravo too! I think it has so much more potential and sports is more exciting, haha! I love reading how everything is looking up for you 🙂 and I hope Bill doesn’t get sick! <3

HAHAHA my base pay is in the singe digits, and then we get comission. I’m not exactly rolling in dough at this job. re: Haha, well I didn’t really elaborate what I meant. I have been applying for jobs online just like always but I haven’t been beating the pavement (so to speak) and taking a day off from work once in a while to go talk to people in person like I said I would.

I have been trying to get into Sports Marketing at Time-Warner but no bites, and I don’t know what else to do to my resume. I’m thinking about adding hobbies that I like do in fact like sports, heh! I hope it works out great for you! psst; I’ll be adding two recipes in about 10 minutes to my diary… check ’em out 🙂

re: they’re just giant flaming assholes. we’re doing what we’re supposed to but they are still being dicks. OH. listen to this. my dad bought my mom a new digital camera for Christmas and its been sitting on the bar downstairs in the den. the other day my mom walked over to get the box to open it and my dad got up and snatched it away and told her HE PAID FOR IT AND THAT IT WAS HIS. I fucking hate him. so she waited until he went to work and she took the damn thing back to the store. hahaha. and her and my brother and going to go pick out another camera today, and she’s going to get either purple or pink so he wont want to use it.

re:yea too bad its $175 for the charm. I told aj maybe for our anniversary in sept? considering he just spent $300 for the key charm and bracelet…I won’t be getting another expensive one right away. But I really reallyreally want it. reminds me of brob!

oh, your bedroom looks lovely. great colour choice! and with the white trim it’s so crisp and clean. Love it! and congratulations on the job! totally excited for you!

ryn – you’re probably right. maybe i should just download it and keep it on my extended harddrive. so that way i have it but don’t have to see it there in my diary every day. lol

ryn: I don’t know, lol… we rented a house last year, and I think Tony might have raked the snow off the roof once or twice, without going up there. But we’ve had an INSANE amount of snow this year, and there could be another foot coming this week, mixed with ice which will make it really heavy. And it seems like we keep hearing stories on the news about roofs collapsing. Getting rid of the snowseemed like a smart idea. 🙂 Also, our attic has double insulation, so we had more snow on our roof than any neighbors, lol. Also, ryOTHERn: Thanks for the good review of megabus! I’ve honestly never ridden a bus (other than a school bus, lol), so I’m a bit nervous about taking one, esp wondering if it will be sketchy, etc. And even though my friend ivy highly recommended it, it’s nice to hear from someone else too. Funny enough, she also mentioned boltbus to me, but I think they don’t operate in my area. Anyway… thank you! 🙂
