Let’s Health!
I re-started up the running program I’d been tackling with Kat a couple of weeks ago, but the pregnancy (I think I’d mentioned she’s pregnant) has been making her ill a lot of the time, so we haven’t been able to do as much as I’d like to. It’s getting to a point where I’ve decided that I need to take things into my own hands, because I really want to get into a regular routine. So, I’ve decided to set my own schedule. I’d like to lose 10 pounds, but more than that, I want to tone up. Plus, I’ve noticed that, although I may become exhausted during my workouts, I tend to be energized afterward and am far more likely to get things like unpacking, chores, etc. done. I really like that feeling. It’s great when Kat is able to join, so on the days she’s feeling up to it and is available, she’ll be good company, but I don’t want to rely on her, anymore, especially since there’s going to come a point where she just can’t do it anymore, as the pregnancy progresses.
I’ve decided that I want to make this a daily thing if possible (6 out of 7 days, technically). 30 minutes of exercise a day, running 3 times a week, as the program suggests, and working out in the gym 3 days in between (elliptical and bike for 15 minutes each, and then a bit of weight lifting after). I may switch things up every now and then. For example, I have my bike now, so I’d like to start riding. I wish I had someone who wanted to go hiking with me, because I’d really like to do that, too. Also, I….may be planning on getting the new Star Wars xbox bundle with Kinect, which is hella expensive, but incredibly awesome. I wouldn’t have that until early next year (that’s when it comes out), but when I’ve got it, I’d like to use Kinect for some fitness things, like Zumba (eventually, it would be cool to actually join a class, but for now, I won’t really have time with my class schedule).
In the past, I’ve never stuck with any kind of exercise regimen I’ve set out to accomplish, but I seriously want to make it work this time around, and I know I can do it. I’ll periodically give updates regarding my progress. Anyway, wish me luck.
Oh, and diet-wise, I’ve been trying to eat a bit healthier, but I really need to work on eating at least 3 meals a day. I’m not really going to be strict about exact portions or counting calories or anything like that. However, I want to try to get myself eating more fruits/veggies/grains/protein. I’m such a sucker for pasta, though. Oh well. :p
The Star Wars XBox Bundle does look really awesome!!
