Sad day…

So the last week, our oldest dog has been feeling rough.  She hasn’t been wanting to eat or drink much.  Yesterday afternoon she seemed to be doing better…drank some water and ate a little can food that N fed her.

Then last night, N came to bed and told me she was doing bad again.  My heart sunk.  It made me think of my mom’s dog and the people I have known that are sick, have one last good day and then they die.

This morning she was bad.  She had rolled off her pillow and was on the floor and couldn’t move.  We rushed her to the vet.  The vet examined her.  Said he found several masses in her abdomen.  N asked if it was cancer and the doctor said probly.  He kept examining her they rushed her out of the room.  She ended up quitting breathing and they tried to give her oxygen and get her breathing again but no luck.

N had gone outside cause he was a wreck.  I had to go out and tell him she was gone.  He lost it…of course I was totallly bawling too. We went back in.  He had her for 13 years and she helped him through a lot of rough times.  Got her and brought her home and buried her next to the pond.

We ate breakfast, I took a shower and we went to town.  Bought a bunch of stuff for projects around the house to prepare for the wedding and bought some plants to go around her little grave.

It’s a sad day.  She will be missed.  She slept next to me every night and usually slept next to me on the bed while I was working.  It just feels wrong without her here.

Sorry to hear about your dog. Our fur babies leave a big gap.

I am so sorry for you loss…I hope you find solace in your memories. Time will help, though you’ll never forget. Maybe you’ll find it in your heart to provide a home for a new pet?

yah it sucks to lose a pet. I lost my Maxine after 16 years. she was my buddy!
