Happy 12th Birthday, Sweet Dog

I don’t really know when he was born so last year I just decided to give him a date.  That date is today. Duke, you mean so much to me.  You have brought such joy and completeness to my life.  You will forever be a part of my soul.  Before you, I was strictly a cat person.  You came along and taught me the joy of dog love and devotion.  We have been through so much together.  There have been some very sad times.  I have tried since then to make you ever forget they happened.  I love being able to make you happy.  My life would be so empty without you and I dread that time to come.  You are my heart dog and I wish you could be with me always.  I wear you every day as your face is on my watch.  I keep a picture of you at work.  You are with me always.  I love taking you to the beach because I know that makes you happy.  It’s a wonderful feeling.  So peaceful just sitting with you there.  I wish I could make time stand still and we could be there forever.  Happy Birthday, special dog.  There will never be  another one like you.
