Finally Here
It’s been three weeks since my hysterectomy and I’m finally feeling a little like my old self. My stomach is still sore but at least the pinching is all gone now. The first week, getting up and down was no fun at all. I would keep from going to the bathroom for as long as possible because of the pain of getting up and down. I’m so glad to have it all behind me. Duke and I took a short walk last night. They say it’s good for you to walk and goodness knows I need to because of all these weeks of eating and doing nothing but sitting. I’ve got to get the stomach bloating down before I go back to work or I won’t be able to fit in my work uniform. That would not be good.
Duke was so good when I came home from the hospital. I did so well that I was released in just one day. Duke wouldn’t eat the second day I was gone. I got home about six that night and that’s when he ate. He’s really loving me being home all the time. We’re both getting spoiled in that aspect. Work will be a rude but needful awakening. I’ve got about three more weeks to recover so I hope that tummy bloat and soreness will be gone by then. Duke never left my side when I wasn’t able to walk too much. He normally spends his time in front of the living room window. He’s such a sweet dog. My love for him grows each day.
Here are a few pictures of Duke and Doogie.

Glad your surgery went well. Yes, dogs seem to sense when we need them most. Their hearts are so giving.
