Ehh…it’s worth a shot

I’ve come in a few times to write an entry and OD hasn’t let me.  I’ve been able to more or less stay caught up on reading and even noting some.  We’ll see if this one stays.  Thanks for being sweet about my concerns with Bubba.  Actually, I may end up being able to help after all.  He may get some short-term work with a cousin who is a contractor.  Bubba has worked for RJ before.  If he does, he’ll stay with me during the week.  (It’s way too far to drive from where he’s living now.) I haven’t heard from him in a few days, so I’m not sure where things stand.

Cbaby came and spent about half of the Thanksgiving break with me.  We had some fun. In no particular order:

We had supper before the movies at IHop (she’d never been). We went and saw Frozen.  It was really good.  It was really cold that night, so she started with hot chocolate.  It was HUGE cup and the waiter piled a ton of whipped cream on top for her.  Then her pancakes came (strawberry banana) and more whipped cream:

We had a small fire one night.  We roasted marshmallows and Starbursts (interesting – I saw it on Facebook, so we gave it a try.)

During the week the large town near me lost a fire fighter.  He was off and his house burned down.  We didn’t get to see the actual funeral.  We waited as long as we could, but we had groceries and couldn’t wait any longer.  I didn’t realize it was the funeral until I saw the 30 or so fire trucks in the grocery store parking lot.  Then, right down the road was the funeral home:

And of course we put up the tree:

I have several of the little books as decorations.  I have an old picture of Tootie and Cbaby reading them years ago.  According to Cbaby we have to read each and every one of them before we hang them.  So, we did. 🙂

The final project.  Normally we put fake snow on, but she found some tinsel and we’ve never done that, so she wanted to.  I kept the tinsel minimal because of Lizzie.  Cbaby did the lights, bead garland, and tinsel. 🙂

What fun! She is beautiful.

I have never been to Ihop either! But then, I hate breakfast food, so there is a problem there. haha! LOVE the Christmas decorations! Sad that a fire fighter died in his own home fire. You think they should know better, be better trained for that stuff. Just shows that no amount of training or preparation can save you. When it is your time, it is your time! Incredibly sad though!
