Ten years

I seem to have lost my writing muse of late. I look back and see the same posts, over and over. I feel awful for neglecting this site, especially as my tenth anniversary passes. I really intended to make some note of that milestone but I completely missed it. My anniversary here was ten years and one week ago today. Maybe its work thats sucking the life out of me, maybe its that Im getting older. I wish I found myself more interesting!

I made one of my longer road trips last weekend. Three hours each way to a little .4 mile asphalt race track outside the great metropolis of Altamahaw, NC (population: 24). The town has one stoplight and the Post Office shares the building with a hair salon and a church. The track is decent though. Good enough amenities, great racing, good loudspeaker system, and no long waits to get out of the parking lot afterward. The weather was perfect, it was in the low 80s when I arrived and got down to the mid 60s before I left. Here are some photos:

I booked my Thanksgiving trip today. Ill be in a one bedroom suite in North Myrtle Beach, overlooking the ocean. I have my fingers crossed for nice weather, Ive been lucky for the past four years. The past three years especially, I think its been in the mid to upper 70s for the past three Thanksgiving vacations.

I think I may have gotten behind on posting some of my model car completions. Here are the last two:

You are not boring! I do love seeing the models. I am nowhere that good at making mine. But they sure are fun. I have two submarines and a tank waiting for me right now since I’m out of work. 🙂

You could do the same thing as me-write a boring entry every couple of days. 🙂

Boring nothing. Join the club! At least you know when your anniversary is–I haven’t a clue! I’m sure I’m around the same amount of time, but now I’m curious…Looks like that was a nice, cozy little track to watch racing at. You might have to start a reacetrack collection! 😉

ryn: Ermahgod, that joke was terrible and hilarious. 😀 I think there’s more than one “right way” to do most things. Except for maths. There’s only one way to do it, and no one can tell me another way because then it doesn’t make sense anymore.

Happy 10 Years! 🙂 Wow. I bet it doesn’t seem like that long either. Population 24?! I would have loved to see that little town. It sounds cute. Your camera obviously is of great quality – love all the details in the pics. I hope you had a great time. Your Thanksgiving vacation sounds exciting, especially by the ocean. 🙂 RYN: I plan on writing about my experiences! 🙂 It’s been a great start!

RYN: Golly, that long! I did remember we both had been on here similar amounts of time, but for some reason I was thinking you’d been on longer. Ah, well, happy tenth to us! 😀

ryn: I ended up deciding to be angry with him as long as he was angry at me. I even decided how I would treat him and how far I would go to prove how angry I was. That was derailed because as soon as he woke up, he wasn’t mad. Grr. 🙂

Wondered where you went to, hadn’t seen you post for a while.

RYN: Nooooooooo……… I don’t do a Sheriff Buford T. Justice (a la “Smokey and the Bandit”). But I have actually done, on the job, a passable Joe Friday – “Unless you’re growing – SIT DOWN!” And a really great Bill Gannon – “Don’t make me stop you the HARD WAY.” Working on Dan Mathews (Broderick Crawford). 🙂

I’ve never been to a car race; never even thought about attending one. But it looks like a fun event to attend (except for the collisions). I don’t keep up with my diary nearly as much as I used to. I’ve lost interest in it so many times. I guess I’m liking the immediacy (real time) aspect of Facebook more. Take care.
