pretty house

I’m a terrible updater. =)  I’ve been continuing to read my favorites, but I just haven’t had the motivation to write a thing!

The housewarming party is this Saturday.  I did get the foyer painted (it’s gorgeous!).  I also repainted the front door, and painted a couple of old wooden chairs from my mom’s basement.  They look great on my front porch.  Hopefully I’ll get a couple more containers planted to finish off the front porch.  I did finally fix the planter that runs along the front of my house, so now it is filled with pretty yellow and purple flowers.  I also hung the new shades in my bedroom, and I have new shades and curtains to hang in Taylor’s bedroom as well.  I think the house should be looking really nice by this weekend.  I actually got Ryan to clean our bathroom this past weekend—it’s sparkling.  Sometimes it takes a few reminders to get him to do stuff, but once he gets around to it, he usually does it right!  Now if I can just get Taylor to clean his room and bathroom as well, we’ll really be in business!

The new youth minister that we hired to work with me started last week, and so far he is awesome!  I am so excited about working with him this year.  Yesterday he came into my office as he was leaving to see if I wanted to go toss a frisbee–so I took a little break and played with him for about 30 minutes.  It was really fun, and we had a chance to get to know one another a little better while we played.  I’m hoping that him and his fiance will come and join our trivia team one of these weeks.

Ryan and I are doing really well.  Last night I started stressing out slightly about how I am going to pay for things once I go back to school next year.  I’m a little nervous about it, but we talked about it, and he assured me that he’ll do whatever he needs to do to make it work for us.  It’s so comforting and exciting to be able to face these things with him….it just makes me love him all the more!

Guess I only have time for this short little entry….I think it’s going to rain, and I need to get home and weed-whack my yard before everything is all wet!
