Great Birthday

My birthday turned out awesome!  When Ryan got back from shopping, he couldn’t wait for me to open my presents, but I decided to wait at least until midnight, so it would officially be my birthday. =)  He did very well!  I was expecting only a couple of small things, but I was surprised.  He got me a new scarf and hat to match my new coat…..they are blue, and so soft and pretty.  He also got me the 6th season of Friends on DVD (I am a Friends junkie), the Sims2 for Gameboy (I play with his now that he has the PSP), a jar of cashews (my favorite), The Ultimate Knife (I think he always has to get me something "as seen on TV"), the first 3 "unfortunate events" books (I sort of collect children’s books), AND a full tank of gas. =)  It was so cute to see how excited he was about giving me the gifts…..that alone was enough for me.

On Sunday, the youth came over and raked my yard…..it is beeeyootiful!  That night, they surprised me with an ice cream cake at our meeting (my favorite), and they all wrote nice things about me on this big glass vase, which they are going to etch.  It was so sweet, and made me feel really loved and appreciated.

This week is going very slowly……can’t wait for this weekend.  Friday night we are going with some friends to see "Walk the Line."  I have always been a big Johnny Cash fan, and this movie looks like it’s going to be fantastic.  Saturday and Sunday will be hectic because this Sunday is Youth Sunday (where the youth lead both services….even preaching!).  As a reward though, I am taking them to see the new Harry Potter movie Sunday night!  I think the movie is going to be great, and we’ve already got 25 or so kids signed up, so it should be really fun.
