Finally finished cleaning the house this weekend….well, almost. =) I actually had a woman coming over on Sunday to give me an estimate for a deep cleaning of our house, so I spent a lot of time Saturday night and Sunday morning getting things straightened up and clean. Thing is, once I was in the mode, it just made sense to keep going. When the woman came Sunday afternoon, the house was already looking pretty damn good (if I do say so myself!). I felt like her prices were really too high for what we needed, so I have scrapped that idea. Instead, I assigned Ryan the job of scrubbing down the bathroom, and myself the job of cleaning all the hardwood floors (which have already been swept and vaccuumed. I have given us both the job of keeping everything neat and tidy until the wedding. Hopefully we’ll do it! We are only going away for a few days after the wedding, but Ryan has the whole week after off, so we want to be able to relax and enjoy the time together.
I did have someone come to do yardwork on Saturday, and I must say that it was worth every penny. Our yard has never looked so neat, and that makes me very happy. =) After they came, I went and met my best friend at the mall to find her a dress for the wedding. I told my bridesmaids to choose any black dress they want to wear, and we have gotten matching pashminas for all of them to make them a little more matchy (the pashminas also match the ties for the men). Since she had a baby a few months ago, she wanted to wait until close to the wedding to get her dress. We actually found one right away, and then had a lovely afternoon shopping for other things and running errands. Since she was unable to attend my shower, she also offered to buy me some fun lingerie for our "mini-moon." I got a very cute little outfit that I think will be a big hit. =)
So now we are only 11 days out from the actual wedding!! This is also the end of the semester for my students, so things are a little crazy. Friday night is Ryan’s bachelor party. Saturday morning/afternoon is my bridesmaids luncheon and Saturday night is my bachelorette party. I think we are just going to go out for dinner and drinks and then go to one of my bridesmaid’s house to watch girly movies. I think it will be just the low-key kind of girly fun that I need right now. After that it will really start to get hectic….family and friends start arriving Sunday night and that will continue throughout the week. I have decided to take the two days before the wedding off of work, so hopefully that will help. I doubt I’ll be able to write in here again until it’s all over with, so when I come back, I’ll be a married woman! =)
Eeeeee!! Exciting. Congratulations!!! Have fun!!! Cant wait to hear about how it went!
