I woke up feeling sick today so ended up calling in to work…now, even though I still feel crummy, I also feel super bored. Figured I might as well take a few minutes to write in here!
Haven’t had too much to write lately because everything just seems to be going along normally. =) Our little boy seems to be doing just fine and growing well…he is constantly on the move, which is reassuring, but can be distracting at times. I feel like he never stops kicking and rolling around. It is neat, but I do wish he didn’t love poking my bladder so much! It is a very uncomfortable feeling to have someone poking you from the inside like that and I am really tired of having to go to the bathroom every 20 or 30 minutes. I am just over 23 weeks pregnant, which means that by this time next week I will have passed the viability date (meaning that there is a chance for survival if the baby comes early). Of course I hope our little guy keeps cooking in there for many more weeks, but it’s a nice milestone to check off the list. Ryan finally felt him kicking a couple of weeks ago, which was pretty neat. I think now that we know it’s a boy and I’m starting to show, it’s all becoming a little more real for him.
Of course we do other things besides talk about the baby, but I have to admit that being pregnant and getting ready for Joseph’s arrival is pretty much always on my mind, and it’s hard NOT to think about it! It’s getting scarier and more exciting by the day. My mom is getting incredibly excited and it’s getting harder to keep her from buying baby things all the time. I don’t know if I mentioned before that my brother and his girlfriend are also expecting a (surprise!) baby…within the next few weeks we should know whether it’s a boy or a girl, and then I think my mom may just die from excitement! We are all hoping it’s a girl (which probably means it will be a boy)…can’t wait to find out if I will have a niece or a nephew! Although I had a lot of mixed feelings about their pregnancy, I am really trying to focus on the excitement more than the worry about how they will manage. It will be fun for Joseph to have a cousin only a couple of month younger than him!
I am so glad my mom is not in that stage where she is just dying to have grad kids. I can’t believe how close you are. It feels like you just found out you were pregnant like a week or 2 ago. Lol! How exciting though. I’m sure everything will be just fine and he’ll be right on time and come out the healthiest baby in the world. Just don’t worry too much. I’m sure the baby can sense/feel that stress…and even after he’s born. You can’t enjoy the good things if you’re worrying too much. Take Care!!

My siblings have had a few of those “surprise” pregnancies, and your so right you just gotta focus on the good things about it and leave everything up to them to figure out, cause once the baby is here everyone will be showering it with love and pride, just as they are all set to do with your little Joseph. Its awesome, Im excited for you, I agree with your last noter, it DOES seem like you just got pregnant a month or 2 ago haha.
