Double Bridge Run – Day 2

We got up at 4:40 a.m. Saturday morning and soon took a bus from the hotel to the starting line.  That’s about 10 miles.

The Double Bridge Run is great.  You run from downtown Pensacola about three miles before you get to the bridge across Pensacola Bay.  After you’ve crossed “3 Mile” Bridge, you run through Gulf Breeze before tackling the high arc of the bridge going into Pensacola Beach.  It’s a 15K and usually it’s sooooo cold… but Saturday was a beautifully cool morning to run.

Michelle and I waiting on the start

I was able to catch a beautiful sunrise from the Baseball Park where we were starting

If you look closely, you can see the bridge across Pensacola Bay in the background.  It was about 3 miles away and we were soon heading out.

I ran to the top of the hill to get pictures of everyone

This girl was running through an injury.  She’s done it every year and is moving back to Idaho soon.

It’s tough running 6 miles and then having fresh legs all around you
