How do I make conversation..

So i actually been trying a dating site, which i shouldnt be embarressed about because apparently everyone does now a days…

There was this girl who looked at my profile and i think shes just so cute. I emailed her and have been spitting random comments. Shes been responding but Im not sure how im just suppose to captivate her attention so that maybe we can actually have a conversation that doesnt have me asking for a high five or get responses of  ":)" when i say something. Any help?
