things that are happening around me, and to me

I’m still here, and just as busy as I’ve ever been. maybe even more so. Still teaching 7 yoga classes a week, and leading a teacher training every Tuesday night as well. I’m also developing the curriculum for an upcoming training that is geared more towards a vigorous hatha flow/vinyasa style of yoga. Right now we currently teach Hatha yoga and kundalini yoga trainings, and as a faculty member who teaches the more vigorous forms I volunteered to do this in exchange for some trainings… I’ll be doing Sadie Nardini’s core strength yoga training, Seane Corn’s vinyasa yoga training, and David Swenson’s Ashtanga level 2 training. wow, I will have a busy couple of months once those start rolling around!

I will be in San Francisco next month for a week of training for a new position within Sephora. They will be creating a position that is closer to a personal shopper type thing, and I will be one of only 4 in the whole state (of Texas!) in this position. One of the others in this position is one of my best friends, so I’ll be able to work with her closely, and that’s going to be good; we’re a good team. We get things done beautifully and smoothly.

Rich has accepted a job, in Annapolis, MD. We haven’t worked out all of the details yet… it’s all very… I don’t know. I don’t want him to go, and he doesn’t really want to go either, but he also feels the need to get out and do more work. I can’t blame him, I hate feeling like I’m not producing or contributing. I just wish that something local had cropped up for him. There’s still an option in Dallas, so it could still work out in our favor. I actually prayed last night that he’d be offered the Dallas job so that we wouldn’t have to be apart for long periods of time. I just don’t know how I could handle that in a long term kind of way.

I finally got a new notebook, a new macbook. It was mostly paid for a combination of a grant for yogi writers and a friend who works for apple who extended his employee discount to me. It really was a case of "hey, did you know you qualify for this grant? Apply today, the window closes tomorrow." and my friend offering me his discount in a conversation, kinda off hand a few days before that. I ended up paying about 150 bucks for it out of my own pocket, and that was only because I requested that it come preloaded with Microsoft office. I need something to write with 🙂

Oh yeah, writing… I’m not a writer really, but this curriculum development has turned into me writing a textbook. Weird, huh? I’m going to submit my project to a think tank of friends, primarily for their input but also because I want to say that I edited the text, I don’t want to be an author. Too much potential to inflate my ego is down that path…

Okay… I’m writing this during a break from writing, I need to get back to it… by Diary people!
