technical and organic difficulties

I’ve been unable to update lately… for some reason when I use my laptop and try to write in here, the editing toolbar doesn’t load and I can’t even enter plain text. So, I’ve been unable to update from home, and I’m usualy so busy at work that I don’t get a chance to update. I really felt the need to write today, before I forget about all of the things that have been happening.

Two weeks ago, while scooting to softball practice, I had an accident. Someone dumped some oil on the street and when I hit it, my bike slid out from under me and I landed on my ass. I bruised my tailbone and compressed my spine (si-l1, l1-l2, l2-l3 if you really wanna know). It fucking hurt, y’all. I spent that day in bed, and the next day on the couch, and then went back to work. It’s still bugging me, but I heal really quickly.

Rich’s mom finally got out of San Antonio; we got her moved into an retirement community apartment up in Pflugerville. We’re glad that we can help her out, but I’m getting tired of spending every weekend with her. That’s got to stop soon. In a few weeks I’m heading to Dallas for another work trip, and Rich is going to come up with me, so that will be a weekend without her. I love that he comes with me for these trips, since Fresh puts me up in nice hotels in downtown Dallas. I will also be going to Houston for some in store appearances, and then to the Rio Grande Valley (sigh).

Softball starts in less than a week, and I’m not really that excited about playing this season… I’m not quite at 100%, and I have a kind of ‘blah’ energy about me. I think it’s because that spine/tailbone injury is really cramping my yoga practice and I rely so heavily on yoga to keep me ‘tuned up’. Argh, indeed.

I just …. wait. I typed "i just", and then got a phone call and promptly forgot where I was going with that. Oh well.

I need to get to work now…

Owie for the tailbone injury! 🙁

OH MAN do I understand about the injury. When you’re used to bending and flexing and just being normal and that’s all taken away and you’re stiff and have to work to do something as simple as put socks on … oh oh oh. Deep breathing and realizing the love I have in my life is the only thing that saved me. And massages. And hot baths followed by ice packs. And vicodin, but Irecommend the other stuff before drugs. I’m sending you all the Norwegian love I can muster, hurt-butt-boy.

random noter: I’ve heard a lot of good things about yoga, but i’ve never gotten off of my butt to take one of the yoga classes at my gym. Is it really that enjoyable or is it the kind of thing you have to develop a taste for?
