So after my week at makeup school I’ve been spending more time in the shop working on people with color rather than just with skincare. It’s a ton of fun, I love doing someone’s makeup and having them say "I’d never have done that, but it really looks amazing!". So with all of the feedback that my bosses have been getting they decided to send me offsite for an event. It was a convention of elected female officials of the state of Texas (I live in Austin, the state capitol!). First of all, the hospitality suite was hidden and not very well attended… but during the couple of hours that I spent there I worked on two mayors and a few city councilwomen. Towards the end of my shift it was dead and one of the other people working the suite asked for some advice on lip colors and we did a deep red lip with a shit ton of gloss on top (that’s a technical term, yo).

Here’s the hilarious part… she was a Mary Kay rep and was all "here’s my cared, you’d make so much money with Mary Kay…" She went on and on for like half an hour trying to recruit me. I was flattered and told her as much, but I really don’t want to sell Mary Kay. Not because of any snobbery issues, but because I don’t want to run a business. I’m lazy. I want to show up to the store and do my thing- I like being on stage and being the center of attention, but I don’t want to have to set the stage every time!

Whatever is in the air right now is horrible. I’m itchy eyed, sneezey, sinus-pressurey, and sleepy all the time! so over it.

Tomorrow is the start of the new softball season, I can’t wait! the new jerseys are cute, but mine is too big. Boo.

I’ve been having allergies in Seattle, too! It feels like spring is coming early though.
