Not the only one

After listening to the news tonight, and talking with several people at work, I realize what I am feeling is “normal”. I have heard it described as feeling like a death in the family, I have felt this way. I feel a sense of deep loss. I have felt like I wish I could break new england away from the rest of the country and become a country of our own because we are so different than the rest of the country. I feel like I want to leave this country and move somewhere else, something an American should not feel, people leave third world countries to come here…..I have heard people on the news say looking at the electoral map, the huge red sections clearly marking conservative America, he wonders what they are thinking, I feel the same way. I see the headlines from around the world, “ooops, they did it again” and “doh! how can 5 million people be SO DUMB!” and I realize, I am not alone. This country is very divided, this is clear, how can two separate ways of thinking people be part of the same country I wonder? This country is as divided as it has ever been. Conservative vs. Liberal, each feeling strongly that they are right. I feel a sense of hatred toward “the other side”, at the same time I feel sorry for them. I’m not sure which countries headline was “how could 5 million people be so dumb”, but that is what I’m thinking as well, how could they?? Well at least after today, I know I’m not the only one that feels as I do, 5 million other people who did not vote for the idiot, and people across the globe, feel the same.
