Kinda update on my half entry

Ok so I totally rushed off in the middle of my thought process of the last entry because I found out that Wes was on his way home. 😀 He had led me to believe that there was basically NO chance of him being on the layoff on Sunday, and yet he knew all along that he would be. It was a great surprise. We went to IHop for dinner (where my food was FABULOUS but OMG they don’t get the concept of food allergies AT ALL. I’ll come back to that) and I’m just so glad to have him home. <3 So the food thing…Xander ordered some kind of kids meal that was pancakes with strawberries on top plus bacon I think? Anyway, I noticed in the picture there was a glaze with the strawberries, so I told her to only put fresh strawberries on there – no glaze because he’s allergic (most glazes are corn syrup and red 40). She says ok. Brings the food and it’s covered in syrup. Try again. Brings it back the second time and ok, there are just strawberries…pick up a strawberry and it’s SOAKED in syrup and left a bright red stain on the pancake where it had been sitting. Apparently they thought that just rinsing off the strawberries was good enough??? Anyway, we ended up not paying for Xander’s food (because he never got it!) but I had ordered a big meal to split with Mal and Wes anyway, so Xander had some of that and was good to go.

Onto the house stuff. *sigh* So…even though I bitched to my MIL about how the house in Amelia was screwing us out of a good mortgage and she basically told me to suck it up, nothing could be done…then yesterday she’s all like "So maybe I could get it just put in my name and you guys could keep making the payments" like it was HER idea. *head meet wall* Ok, fine. I really don’t care. Act like you came up with the great idea – cool. As long as you do it. SOOO it looks like we might be able to end up with the USDA loan now after all, assuming everything goes well with her taking over the mortgage for the Amelia house. That would be soo amazing. Seriously. It means we could keep our $6000 either to work on the house or put towards a van we desperately need, AND we could afford a lot more for the house because PMI is a QUARTER of what it is for the FHA loan. So instead of $250 extra per month, it’s only like, $65 extra. So REALLY hoping this works out. For example, under the USDA loan, $150k would be a monthly payment of $880.75. With the FHA, it would be $1013.52. That’s a HUGE difference.

And once again I got interrupted (this time by a not-sleeping baby) so I’m ending again. lol
