When my present self looks after my future self

I’m in this life phase of looing and replacing or bringing newness in. Things seem to be breaking all around me. Last month I had to send my laptop in for repairs, so I’ve been over 4 weeks without a computer. I am thankful that my past self decided to purchase an extended warranty plan for it because I was notified that it needs to be replaced.

Sometimes, perhaps not often enough, I look after my future self. In this case, instead of declining coverage or instead of selecting lower coverage, I bought exactly what I needed without knowing that I would need it. The replacement/protection plan was $350 on top of the cost of the laptop. But $350 is nothing in comparison to getting a new $2,000 machine.

There are other ways I take care of my future self. Sometimes I send her reiki if she’s meeting a new client or about to face something scary. Sometimes, and this is my favorite one because it’s so random, I will put dollar bills in my books and coat pockets only to discover them years later as a reminder that my past self loves me, wishes me abundance, and to remind me that I have blessings all around me.

So I am very thankful that my past self in that present moment made a decision to take care of me, the me right now.
