Fulfilling dreams
I’m thankful that I’ve been able to fulfill several of my childhood dreams. The one that comes to mind today is having a projector.
I haven’t had cable television since I left my childhood home in 2003. But I’ve always loved movies, ever since I was a little kid. Every time I envisioned my dream home it included a home theater, complete with a popcorn machine and red velvet lined theater style seats. It was a fancy smancy affair. A dress code was required in this imaginary space, but please check your coats and top hats at the door. (The home theater was fully staffed, naturally.)
Today, although I don’t have a soundproof, totally dark room, and although I don’t have a popcorn machine, or special seating, I do have a home projector. It’s not the best, brightest, or clearest, but it was what I could afford and it came with a “screen.” My seven-year-old inner child is pretty satisfied. Especially because a boy I like sits next to me when I’m watching movies. In some ways, it’s a little better than I had dreamed it would be 🙂
