Where does the time go?

I can’t believe I haven’t written since May! But time flies…I zumba 3 times a week, am planning a wedding, working 50-60 hours every week and of course we got a puppy who takes up tons of our time.
Blah. So the wedding. We finally found our middle ground. We are having a small (50 people) wedding on the beach in Galveston. We found a venue that we absolutely love and of course we both love the beach so it really is just perfect for us. The date is 10-5-13. It seems so close yet so far away still. We have the venue which also takes care of the food and the cake and the planner on site will also take care of most of the decor (I may just have to add some of my own flair/colors – which are gray and fuschia). I don’t have my dress yet but I am still losing weight so I’m nervous to buy it now and then lose another 40-50 pounds because that might be too much of an alteration and the dress could wind up warped. But luckily, that decision doesn’t have to made until the early/mid summer. The men are wearing dress pants and vests but not full suits. We don’t want anything to dressy because this really is meant to be more a fun and casual wedding. We are going to rent a beach house for a few days before the ceremony so my parents, us and the bridal party can spend some time together around Galveston fishing, going to the spa, etc. I really am getting excited again, I think it was just that nothing was done and now we’ve got the biggest thing out of the way.
So I have to confess. I did something on the bitchy and petty side, but it was in response to someone else’s bitchy and petty move. My original date was 11-9-13. Then Laura got engaged and asked me to be a bridesmaid (as of right now, she is also one of mine). So after a few weeks I get a message from her – her date is 10-19-13, exactly 3 weeks prior to mine. I KNEW she was going to make it just before mine even though she could have made it sooner and it would have been so much easier. So, I hadn’t booked my venue at the time that she booked hers and when we did? We just moved it a month sooner. I wouldn’t have cared so much if hers wasn’t outdoors, by the lake in the middle of October and that is almost guaranteed to get me sick! I live in Texas afterall. I know she is pissed but I so don’t care. I knew she was going to pull something like that even though she told me it was going to be at least 2 months prior to that originally. But I’m pretty sure I got the last laugh because she is PISSED. And I honestly don’t care. Which is why I say AS OF NOW she is a bridesmaid but we will see. I can see her backing out of it. Quite honestly, we haven’t been nearly as close since I moved here. I would always call her but the friendship felt entirely one sided. So eventually I got tired of it and exactly as I thought, now that I don’t call her, we never talk. Which is fine. I’ve realized you can see a lot of things about people when you are friends with them from far away, and I’m seeing things that people (Emmett, other friends) told me about her that I never wanted to see because I thought she was a great friend. You live you learn I guess. All I know is I don’t want anyone at my wedding who can’t be happy for me and will cause drama.
I am now at about 70 pounds lost! This is why I mention her not being happy for me. She couldn’t even congratulate me when I told her; I think part of that is because we were always fat friends together and well, I just got fed up with being fat and did something about it. I still have a bunch more I want to lose before the wedding (which is part of the reason the wedding seems so close I’m sure). But I will get there. After the new year, I want to start training for a 5k and add a day or two of treadmill and one night of cardio kickboxing to my exercise regimine. Even at this weight though, I feel great. I have so much more energy and am able to move in ways I never thought I’d be able to again.
As for the puppy…Anyone on my facebook has seen her but she is a half Chihuahua-half dachsund named Penny Lane. We call her a chikangaweenie because she loves to jump (and actually broke her leg after jumping from Emmett’s shoulder). She is about 4 months old, and I found her running around outside of my building at work. By the time I’d gotten her back to my house that night I was absolutely in love and she has stolen both of our hearts completely.
I still can’t believe Emmett and I have been together for over 7 years (with the one break up of course). But honestly, I don’t know that we have ever been happier.
I vow to try to write more here, I need the outlet. I’m thinking of starting a beauty/exercise blog, but if that comes to fruition I will post a link here. Hope all of you are well and have a wonderful holiday season – we’ve got Christmas shopping to finish today so I’m heading out. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!

RYN: Adoption has crossed my mind, but that is a lengthy and expensive option as well 20k+ easily. You still have to wait years and go through approval proceses. Then they have age restrictions which would exclude the gent. We could get a special needs kid through the state for free, which is totally an option. Adoption is probably harder and more taxing that what I’m going through now.

Surrogacy is not something I see as an option. Once again 20k+ easily with no guarantee. They miscarry at 6 weeks you are still out half the money probably, assuming they get pregnant after you are already thousands in. I’d rather gamble on my own body. WOW, I can’t believe you guys have been together 7 years. Time flies. I know what you mean, it’s not worth it having people in your lifeyou aren’t actually happy for you. Congrats on the wedding planning, and exercising!! Other’s willpower always amazes me.
