Mirror of me

stand I do within the light
reflections go from day to night
mirror mirror it’s I I see
are you looking back at me?

silver pane of reflective glass
wrinkled miles of what has past
seeing all that has come true
am I truly seeing you?

seeing back the better day
do you have the words to say
sad green eyes of all I’ve seen
the mirror’s real and I the dream

opposite of what I am
just a living breathing man
do you dwell upon your side
will you stay once I have died

mirror mirror it’s I I see
am I you or are you me
just an image of what will be
mirror mirror mirror of me

RYN: Thank you for your note. It is scary to have dreams. Though you are right. Very wise words. I love the way you write also. I have to admit I cant tell if these are the thoughts of a younger or older man. But I am jealous that I cant think up poems as good as these. x
