Gerty… (4) (!!!)

Johnny didn’t take long to feel the adrenalin crash and they started looking for a discreet motel off the main roads just in case someone noticed their truck and the police may be out and about. Eventually a clean little mom and pop appeared and Gerty and Johnny pulled in for the night.
A diner was attached so there was no need to wander about and further expose themselves as strangers are easily remembered in tiny towns and villages. The food was cheap and surprisingly good and it gave Johnny some time to come to his senses about just what happened and turn shock into the question why.
"Gerty, I don’t get it. Out of the blue you whack this stranger and never say a word to me about it. You do understand I want to know what the fuck is going on. That question does make some sense to you, right?"
Gerty just was smiling and munching away but did show some understanding.
"J-man, I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you but my experience is to involve first and then explain later. It creates a deeper commitment to the relationship. And the one thing I know for sure is that your a keeper."
Johnny just sat and looked at Gerty and as much as he wanted to put her on the curb he just didn’t feel that is where this is going. Adorable and smiling Gerty radiated victim in his mind and this is one person that he was not walking away from. It will probably be the death of him but he was in for the long haul.
"So, lets get back to the why of death of good old Ralph shall we?"
Gerty seemed to harden her look for just a second and then said:
"Not everyone is a keeper."
Johnny stayed still for a moment soaking in the answer and finally asked,
"What makes me a keeper Gerty?"
Gerty popped up on her knees on the booth seat and said a bit to loud,

One thing that I really know
you don’t love your daddio

Johnny was stunned in that Gerty was absolutely right. Johnny did not love his abusive drunken dad who could feel free to die and rot in hell with the rest of the vermin of the world. But Johnny never spoke a word about his dad good, bad or otherwise. Johnny found the whole series of events even more unnerving.
Gerty seemed to recover from the last couple of questions and was just as bouncy and childlike as before.
" Now if you don’t mind I’m going to go slit the managers throat real quick and you my dear J-man are going to then fuck my eyes out."
Johnny laughed and said,
"Well I do mind if you murder the guy at the desk because then we have to take off and find another motel." The J-man needs his sleep. You can kill him in the morning if you want but there’s only going to be fucking and no killing tonight."
Gerty just laughed and said,
"I was just kidding J. About the killing anyway."

What Johnny did not know is that Gerty did not sleep. Gerty did not dream. Gerty did not forget. Awake Gerty was the nightmare for many but the real nightmare lived behind her eyes where dreams lie in wait.
