blog: as dark as it gets….

Being from Michigan this is the time of year that we go into the darkness of winter. I walk out of work and the sun is setting and it rises on my way back in. It is an omen of the black that can capture us in this world. Why has the world filled with dread. What is it within our species that seems to have genetically blocked us from generating internal light? Are we not "higher functioning" beings? Should our daily reflection be a lamentation or a search for a reason to be thankful to be on this planet. I can try to brighten my day but really I think that I might be better at brightening your day and you mine. It is your essence that energies mine….hopefully mine can spark yours. There are times when solitude heals me as well but that is to address the clamor of the world. Words are meant to be whispers and not the clanging of bells. You breathe upon me…soothe me and lift me up. Let’s value each other and run to each other, not turn away from what seems difficult. The world is made of dirt and churning seas….we are made something more. The capacity to enlighten. Brighten.
Tell me I am something. Funny, worthwhile, loved, fuckable. Anything to throw a blanket over the darkness all to easy to see and find the light that illogically hides behind it…..
Even though the winter is dark…the sun still comes up every day to try to warm things up and give us a glimpse of the light…we should learn from our universe…
Thanks for reading……

aah yes, under the blanket of darkness there is the light of interaction among the masses. Inspiring one another is the playground of life. RYN: Writing is much the same for me too. ; )
