The colors of the wind
A man was set on fire today near Times Square. NYPD is still searching for the suspect with the only details stating he was wearing blue clothing.
Apparently the two men knew each other. The victim suffered burns to his face and arms. He states the suspect approached him and threw a liquid on him then ignited the fire.
Steven Ortiz, a city resident said,” Just listening to all these things, especially with what happens on the train, in the subway, I don’t know what’s going on with people who just want to light people on fire.”
The Trump Adminstration deported hundreds of migrants, despite judge’s order stopping the removal.
The immigrants were already on 2 planes in the air at the time of the judge’s temporary barring the deportations under the 18th century wartime declaration which specifically targets Venezuelan gang members. One plane was heading to El Salvador and the other to Honduras. The judge ordered the planes to turn around but that did not happen and he did not include the directive in his written order.
Are we heading towards a recession?
Treasury Department Secretary Scott Bessent said on Sunday that, “there are no guarantees.”
Kristen Walker from NBC asked Bessent on “Meet the Press”, “Mr. Secretary, can you guarantee the American people here and now that there will be no recession on President Trump’s watch?”
Bessent responded, “you know that…there are no guarantees, like, who–who would’ve predicted COVID?”
He went on to say, “And could their be an adjustment? Because I tell you that this massive government spending that we’d had, that if that had kept going, we have to wean our country off of that.”
Last Monday, the stock market began the week with intense losses. The DOW dropped 890 points that day. Dipping 2.1%.
Larry Summers, Bessent’s predecessors at Treasury Dspartment Secretary, said on Monday that the odds of a recession were close to 50/50.”
I thought I would share a couple photos of my afternoon adventure and the wonderful (sarcasm) Nebraska wind.
I’m actually roadtripping to that part of the country this summer, on my way to the NE corner of Colorado so i can cross it off my list of states I’ve driven in. Is there anything else notable or unusual or quirky to visit in that area?
@elkay what cities or towns are you planning to visit in NE Colorado?
@deepestthoughtsofalonelywoman We were thinking of Sioux Falls SD (for a wedding) then Keystone SD, maybe one night in Sterling CO or thereabouts, and then head back to MN thru NE/IA. I’m not a fan of mountains which is why I’m just hitting the northeast corner of CO lol!
