Puppy

I’ve been away for a minute because I got another dog. A puppy actually. His name is Tank and he’s a boxer mix. I got him from the Humane Society. He’s 2 months and 12 days so his birthday would be September 20th. So my life is going to be interesting for a while. He knows how to sit already which is pretty good. I’ve been doing my best to work with him. House training is hit and miss but he’s slowly understanding the concept. He peed 5 times today inside but no poop, which is an improvement from previous days. He went outside twice without me going out with him today so that was nice. The one thing I will say is I didn’t really think it through getting a puppy during the winter. Standing outside at 3am is not pleasant. I always pray for no mountain lions.

My 11 year old dog is obviously not happy with the new addition. She’s putting up with him but if he gets in her bubble she tells him about it.

In total, I now have 5 pets. 2 dogs, 1 bearded dragon, and 2 leopard geckos. I’m becoming the crazy cat lady only with more of a variety of pets. I will never own a cat. I can’t stand them.

I did put up my Christmas tree yesterday. I have it setting up higher because of Tank but so far he’s pretty much ignored it.

The weather is suppose to be warmer this weekend so I plan to start taking him on walks. He’s going to be my walking partner as he gets older so we got to start out slow. I bought him a harness and a coat, because again, winter.

I gave my beardie, Triden, a bath today because he decided to lay in his poop for whatever reason. I think he’s upset because we aren’t watching football lately and he loves football.

Because I’m spending more of my time with Tank house training and command training, I haven’t been keeping up with the news as much. Biden pardoned his son Hunter which was no surprise. I haven’t been doing my Russian like I should but I am currently reading The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics: A Survey from 1917 to 1991. I finished a book about the Kremlin, which was just an overview but still interesting.

I don’t really have a solid explanation on why I’m so fixated on Russia and learning what I can about the country and language. I just feel the need to learn about it so I am.
