Frog embryos. I mean, it could’ve been drugs.
You know, it is intersting to me how the media tries to make society excuse the illegal actions of those who caused them, simply by reporting their victimization to pull heartstrings. I admit, it works, but if you can train your brain to look past the “woe me(s)” and actually digest the policies and procedures, you would see the action they chose, still requires a legal consequence.
If you can’t bring fruit and vegetables from abroad, why would it be okay to try to smuggle frog embryos through customs? Oh, but she is such a highly skilled researcher and if she gets deported back to Russia she might get killed by speaking out against Putin and the Ukraine war! Well, she shouldn’t have agreed to try and smuggle frog embryos per her boss’s request and knowingly so. Evidence of text messages between the two of their plans to do such action. But, but but!
She did an illegal action and illegal actions have legal consequences. And by the way, she will be deported to France, not Russia.
I read this article from a left wing news source. The National Pulse.
I, personally, have zero tolerance for excuses over stupid behavior. It literally boils inside me.
I don’t hate this woman. I do feel sorry for her situation, but I’m not going to riot in the streets to excuse her decision to do an illegal action. You can have sympathy but also understand the sense of justice.
“Peshkin said it was legal for Petrova to import frog embryo samples, but she made an error with paperwork. Improperly importing the frog samples carries a fine of up to $500, but she was also denied re-entry to the U.S, he said.
Peshkin’s attorney, Gregory Romanovsky, told Fox News she wasn’t aware she needed to declare the sample at customs. He slammed federal authorities for improperly revoking her visa.”
Does the punishment fit the crime?
